I have successfully achieved my learning outcomes for my major. Throughout my time at the University of New England, I have found it interesting to see how these skills can be incorporated into multiple classes and are reflected in my professional development. Elements of my majors’ outcomes include written and oral communication skills, which I use every day, whether that’s in class, my personal life, or professionally. I’ve found that most assignments, individual or group, involve discussion to further the project. While honing these skills, I am also constantly practicing and engaging in technological communication through various media, such as brochures and short films. These learning outcomes are the foundation for my work and act as a reference as I complete and reflect on assignments, past, present, and future!
Communication Learning Outcome One
Official Description: Demonstrate written and oral communication skills that are expected in the professional field. Indicators of achievement are as follows: Apply critical thinking and collaboration within group settings, write informatively for specific situations.

Spring 2024 CMM 211 Evidence: The following example shows a slide show that demonstrates my skills of written communication and oral as the final was an individual oral presentation. This analysis of Union College’s student newspaper shows that I can think critically when introducing new information and organize my writing for specific situations.

Spring 2025 CMM 405 Evidence: The following example shows a final film product that involved group collaboration and organization, critical thinking, planning, and written outlines for film preparation. This project was process-heavy and required public speaking when presenting the final result. Through this project, I successfully used current technology to enhance my short film in an efficient and ethical manner.
