This page presents a timeline of my work, planning process, and the development of projects from my internship with the Maine TREE Foundation.

Evidence #1: Images from 9/10 HOLT Research Forest Field Day

Evidence #2:  October Student Page for Curriculum

Each month, the foundation releases journals that follow their student curriculum. For October, I made additions to the “Grow with a tree” curriculum. Each page references the Teacher’s Guide that follows the lesson overview, vocabulary, and prompts that the young students should grasp from these worksheets.

Holt/Timber Inventory/Tech position Social Post –

On Canva, I uploaded my images from our HOLT Forest Field day and formed an Instagram caption to advertise the forest and market the foundation’s Summer 2025 Research Technician Position. It will be posted later this week.

Evidence #3: Brainstorming Week

This week was spent brainstorming the MTF annual “Help Us Stack a Cord” fundraiser, which aims to provide wood for families to heat their homes. In the coming weeks, my supervisor and I plan to volunteer at a woodbank to gather footage and learn more about the process. I outlined two concepts to help promote this:

https://www.mainetree.org/post/wood-banks-and-fuel-poverty-in-maine

Basic video: Opening hook: “ our goal is to reduce their heating costs with sustainable fuel alternatives.”

  • What is the Wood bank?
  • Where/who does this wood go to?
  • How is this wood obtained and what’s its use.
  • Who can be or is involved in the bank?

End: State purpose and goal, why this must keep happening; Necessity, not luxury !!

  • Wood pellets convenient?
  • How can wood benefit your home

Live stacking demo: how to stack wood properly, what you should know + safety

Start with a hook: Statistics? “Half of Maine households heat with at least some wood” maine.gov

  • That means every piece counts
  • But how many actually know who to store it properly

How to + pointers:

  • Location, storage
  • elevate off ground for bugs, gaps for airflow, don’t stack too high

Help neighbors stay warm – “Smart stacking means cleaner burns, safer homes, and renewable warmth for Mainers in need.”

Another brainstorming concept I’ve been working on is promoting the Certified Logging Professionals:

Option 1 – Discuss basis of CLP – first video to promote our certification program

  • This is what program is, why you should join it, program promotion

Hi my name is – and I’m a professional logger with Certified Logging Professionals. My job is to work within the forest industry to protect our natural environment and enhance our natural resources.

  • Our diverse training programs give loggers the skills and knowledge to do their job to the highest standard.
  • 5 H’s and Why? Like a pitch

Option 2 – “DITL” step by step breakdown…wanted to watch before trainings, lead to how to use tools

Hi my name is – and I’m a professional logger. My job is to — project our natural environment and enhance our natural resources.

But in order to achieve that, Our first step is to know how to do it safely. The first step is ensuring our workers safety…https://www.clploggers.org/about-4-1
We loggers have a code of ethics that we strictly abide by, and the first code is taking all safety precautions seriously…

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – chainsaw safety first!

Everyone must be wearing a hard hat, safety glasses, and hearing protection for noise and flying debris.

  • Gloves + clothing
  • Leg and foot protection?

Closing shot: Fully suited up “Now we’re ready work”

  • anyone using a chainsaw should understand this safety, general users/working on non-professional workers, learning how to use tools, PPE is still same no matter experience, general for all

Evidence #5 – 11/12

This week, I was asked to develop a S.W.O.T. analysis and SMART Goals as I help create a strategic development plan for the Foundation for the next couple of months.

Upcoming Work Days:

11/20: 3rd Grade Field Trip Timer Harvest Media Day, Litchfield, ME

TBD: Wood Bank Volunteering Media Day

Evidence #6 – 11/19

The following images are pages from my November student education journal that follows the topic of ‘Grow with your Tree”. This month’s journal focuses on the hibernation process that trees experience as the weather gets colder.

Evidence #7 – 12/3

The following images are from my field day, where I accompanied MTF on an elementary field trip in the woods to educate and inform kids on the process and importance of timber harvest, and what a job in that career might look like.
